Professional Military Education
Noncommissioned Officer Academy - Commandant Award - Keesler Air Force Base - 2021
The Commandant Award at the Keesler Air Force Base Mathies Noncommissioned Officer Academy (NCOA) is a leadership honor presented to one graduating student who demonstrates exceptional potential, distinct professional qualities, and overall leadership excellence during the PME course. The Commandant evaluates leadership impact, interpersonal performance, and professional presence rather than raw academic grade point average alone. While criteria can be tailored by the specific academy Commandant or instruction team, selections heavily weigh peer evaluations, instructor feedback, and candidate participation. It stands alongside other elite NCOA honors, such as the Academic Achievement Award and the top-tier William H. Levitow Award. Class sizes are roughly between 75 - 100 students.
Noncommissioned Officer Academy - Distinguished Graduate - Keesler Air Force Base - 2021
The Noncommissioned Officer Academy (NCOA) Distinguished Graduate Award is a prestigious honor given to the top 10% of graduating class members in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard. Selection is based primarily on high academic scores, but also consider instructor evaluations and peer leadership points. Class sizes are roughly between 75 - 100 students.
